I chose this course because there’s lots of career pathways to go down. Everyone in my course has a different career goal such as working in biomedical sciences, police force or fire services, just to name a few!
I’m really enjoying my course as I’m able to learn the forensic skills I need to work towards a degree apprenticeship in the police force. Staff are supportive and it’s much more laidback than school – it’s great studying a subject I actually love!
In year 11, I came to the college for a taster day and thought it was a good college to study at. I also heard great things about the computing course and it didn’t disappoint as I’m really enjoying it.
I really enjoy the units especially the software design and development unit. The lecturers are helpful and supportive, and overall the course is high-quality.
Throughout my history at the college, everyone around me has helped me develop my independence to prepare myself for the world of work. Everyone is incredibly friendly, and because of that, I have easily adjusted to college life and I am now confident when working with others. I’m really enjoying the level 3 computing course. I like the fact that you can do many experiments with all sorts of technology, such as playing with drones, using the 3D printer, and building computer networks. I also like how you can use your organisational skills for project management – all in the space of one year.
I really enjoy the practical aspects of my course, but there’s a good balance between practical and theoretical learning. The course has given me more opportunities to get hands-on experience of performing as a band and this has boosted my confidence. The teachers are friendly and supportive and will often go above and beyond. After completing my course, I’m hoping to study the HNC qualification at the college. I often perform live at bars and other venues as a session musician, but I feel like the HNC in Music will help me learn and improve the skills I need to pursue this as a full-time career.
