The purpose of this part-time course qualification is to increase the learners’ knowledge and awareness of the Prevent Duty and safeguarding, including online safety. By completing this qualification, learners will develop knowledge of safeguarding in an environment where they have a duty of care and is suitable for those responsible for safeguarding others.
This qualification contains 3 mandatory units:
• Unit 01 Understanding the Prevent Duty
• Unit 02 Understanding Safeguarding
• Unit 03 Understanding Online Safety.
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.
The course is assessed by your assessor using either an online platform or building a portfolio of evidence using a range of assessment methods such as written assignments or professional discussions.
Completion of this course may support progression toward the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead in early years settings, schools and the health and social care sector. It provides a continued professional development opportunity and could lead to further study within the relevant sector. Achievement of this qualification could also strengthen applications for job roles within these sectors.
