Learners must be available to attend a 3 hour taught session per week and commit to finding and attending a voluntary placement for 3 hours per week in a primary or secondary school. Learners will study a comprehensive range of units to support their role, for example child development, safeguarding, communication and equality and diversity practice.
It is advisable to develop English and maths skills to support future employment opportunities.
Learners must have a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. No formal entry requirements.
Internally assessed and externally moderated portfolio. Knowledge of units assessed via assignments. Competency of skills assessed during observations of practice in placement.
Successful completion of the course enables learners to progress onto the CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning (STL) or employment. If you are interested in applying for this course, please contact us for more information.
