Who is the qualification for? This Level 2 Diploma in Accident Repair Paint is for anyone developing a career in the motor industry. This practical qualification demonstrates candidates skills on the job and in their own workplace showing that they meet national standards for automotive workers.
The structure and assessment strategy has been produced by the Institute of the Motor Industry, who are the Sector Skills Council for the Automotive Industry.
There is a minimum requirement of 4 GCSEs grades A-C (9-4) including maths. Alternatively successful completion of Level 1 Diploma at a good level of ability and attendance.
The course is portfolio based and is assessed by observations of practical tasks carried out to a satisfactory standard, and by unit based knowledge questions at the end of each unit.
Successful completion of the Level 2 Diploma can lead to a place on the Level 3 Diploma in Vehicle Accident Repair (Paint), or if the candidate has a permanent work placement then possibly a full Level 2/3 apprenticeship route.
